Greek pharmacists announced that as from Monday September 3 they will not honour the prescriptions of the EOPI – the social security fund that serves the large majority of Greek workers. The insured people who need medicines will have to pay out of their pockets and then claim the money from the fund themselves. The system so far was that the person insured would go to the pharmacist with the prescription, pay a percentage of the price and the pharmacist would then claim the rest from the Social security fund.
