In an unprecedented move the taxi drivers union has blocked both the old and new highway that join Patras, capital of the Peloponese and the ferries from Italy entry point, to Athens.

In the meantime another group has managed to speak with Transport Minister Mr. Ragoussis, but no agreement was reached. At this moment the Athens taxi drivers are attempting to block one of the main traffic arteries of the city while the government is considering the use of force to disperse them.

The “yellow tribe” – as the public calls them due to the colour of the taxis in Greece – is on the march.
