The Greek Parliament decided by a vast majority that Akis Tsohatzopoulos, former Minister of Defense and one of PASOK veterans will be charged for fraud. The charges are that during his service there were orders made for German submarines which were overcharged. Mr.Tsohatzopoulos refuses all charges and stated that he will appeal to the European Court in order to prove his innocence. Mr. Tsohatzopoulos claims that there is a political conspiracy against him.
It is very probable that the offences he is accused off have been written off according to Greek law.
Mr. Tsohatzopoulos, an Andrea Papandreou’s contemporary, made headlines a few years back with his marriage to a much younger woman and the expensive ceremony and reception that took place in one of the most pricey hotels of Paris.
